My Early Life

I was born in December 1975. Abortion and deadly infection couldn’t kill me, I survived! My two sisters and I were born into an ordinary family of an accountant and a plumber in Sumy, Ukraine, still then a republic of the former USSR.

In 1991, the Soviet Union ceased to exist and Ukraine finally got our independence. We started a completely new life. Millions of people had learned to live in a country with a communist system, but now they had to learn to live differently. And it wasn’t easy.

With the fall of the Iron Curtain we had the opportunity to hear the Word of God. Many at that time turned to God. My family also received a chance to get freedom not only from the communist shackles, but also to free ourselves from the bondage of sin and death.

In late 1992, our family was faced with the cancer of my grandmother. The doctors told us that they are unable to help her. My mom decided to find someone who can help her. And it was Jesus. My grand-mother was healed and experienced a dramatic encounter with the Lord right in the hospital. As a result, our family turned to the Lord. We began attending a local church where we met wonderful people. Many of them, just like us, have recently become acquainted with Jesus.

In the Army & Youth Ministry

A year later I went into the army, where I founded my first church, right in the military hospital. At this time all of my plans changed and I received a call to serve the Lord.

In 1995, while reading the book “The Cross and the Switchblade” by David Wilkerson, I was so touched that I realized that the Lord wanted me to minister to the youth in my city. I started a youth ministry with 30 young people and within two years it had grown to 200.

Opening My Missionary Path

In 1997, I realized that the Lord was calling me to go to a new mission field.

At the age of 21 I went to Glukhov and founded a local church there. I was the pastor there until August 2010.

During my ministry in Glukhov (Sumy region) has been a lot of important things in my life. In 2000, I met a beautiful girl, Marina and married her; we had our daughter Polina and son Eugene. From 2000 to 2017 I led the Christian Missionary Camp “Fight of Faith,” an amazing camp that inspired children and young people with the Christian missionary vision.

In 2008, my pastoral ministry expanded, I took responsibility for the local church in Priluki (Chernigov region). The two cities are about 155 miles (250 kilometers) apart and every weekend I traveled in order to serve simultaneously in two churches.

In 2009, in my heart there was a new direction from the Lord: Russia! Until 2013 I was actively involved in church planting there.

In 2013 we moved to Warsaw, Poland to start over again. We didn’t know that in just one year, waves of Ukrainian refugees would be coming, in search of a safe place for their families. God sent us forward to help many.

Extending a Lifeline to the Lost in Southeast Asia

In 2014, the Lord drew my attention to one of the southeastern countries where Christians are persecuted and the gospel is opposed by the government.

At that moment I thought about what I could do for such a big country. But suddenly I remembered that before the throne of God will be representatives not of countries and empires, but representatives of peoples and languages (Revelation 7:9).

I decided to find some tribe in this particular country that is still not reached by the Gospel at the moment. Thanks to the Joshua Project, using their website I found such a tribe, and began to pray to God for him. At that time, there was no photo yet and there was very little information about these people.

And in 2018, together with my friend, I went in search of this tribe. On that first trip, the Lord gave us friends, local residents, who helped us not only to find these people, but also to start working, bringing them the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We saw how the people we prayed for were saved by accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior – it’s amazing!!!

We also sent the Joshua Project more information about the tribe, so that more may come.

While the tribe still needs missionaries, the Word of God is spreading there. People in this nation are ready to follow Him.

I love these people, I love this nation, and I would like to live part of my life there with them. I am glad that my friends shared with me the responsibility of reaching this people with the Gospel.

Since War Began

On February 24, 2022, the full-scale Russian invasion began and a flood of millions rushed to the west. We and many others mobilized to help families arriving from Ukraine. My family’s own home is now a shelter for many. Included are my wife’s own niece and nephew from Kyiv. We have welcomed the two teenagers as family and are their parents away from home.

Today my family and I serve Ukrainians in Poland. We also continue our missionary projects in the nations and inspire the Body of Christ through books and seminars to go and make disciples around the World.
